: Hi Anadae,
: I just remembered a couple more suggestions I can give you to help you find your black rose...
: One more website name I just remembered: Heirloom Roses up in Oregon (www.heirloomroses.com) -- look for their page called, "unusual color roses"... There's a rose that's close to black in color there. I've never grown that particular rose, nor ever seen it in any garden I've toured; but you might find it worth taking a risk trying it out, knowing there's always the option to "shovel-prune" it if you end up hating it (LOL)
: Yet another good suggestion I forgot to mention is to look into your nearest local Rose Society (you live in Northern Virginia, right?). They probably have a website -- or if not, I'm sure somewhere else on the East Coast not too different from your Virginia climate will have one. Most Rose Society website have both an excellent "Links" section to check out, and also will provide a list of roses that do well in your area...
: Happy rose-search!
